Next year is going to be very important for colt. I don't see campbell returning on a new contract, and if he does it will be a small one. Collins has one year left on his contract but its possible he doesnt return again. No matter what campbell doesnt deserve to come in as the unchallenged starter, whether we draft someone or pick them up in free agency. colt has gotta establish himself next year if he wants to move up on the depth chart, especially if we have a different head coach, he beat chase daniel for a spot on the team because zorn likes what he sees, but a new coach might not feel the same way.

I have the distinct feeling that Mike Shanahan is going to be the 'Skins coach next year. Knowing the kind of QB's he likes, I think he'll feel good about having Colt.
The problem is Snyder and if he drafts a QB in round one, which, as high as their pick will be, he will probably do. If they do go that route it will just be another challenge for Colt, like when Brees was in San Diego and they took Rivers.
I just want Colt to show everyone what those of us who followed him at Hawaii already know... and that is that he's a winner and can elevate those around him.

Skins signed former Cowboys quarterback Richard Bartel off the Jaguars' practice squad and release Andre' Woodson from their practice squad.
Bartel would be on 53 man roster and possibly get playing time per a tweet.

I think gruden and Holmgren are more likely to get the job next year, and i think that way because they are west coast offense masters, and instead of trying to install a new offense we could build on what we've started (i know the terms are different, but zorn did learn from holmgren). Also, i'll take bartel over Woodson any day, but i dont understand why we need a 3rd qb now. Is campbell injured? why do we keep cutting marcus mason and bringing him back? the moves just dont make any sense.

Well, if they stay medium, Colt knows the scheme better than anyone on the outside and is their best chance to pull the team together in their heads, hearts and on the field. imho, of course.
Happy Holidays!

it looks like mike shanahan is going to be the head coach next year, which is exciting but he has always liked quarterbacks with big arms. That could mean campbell returns and/or we draft a quarterback.

He was only the 49ers Offensive Co-Ordinator from 1992-94 and that was when Steve Young set a Super Bowl record w/ 6 TD passes in the big game. He then won two more as Head Coach/OC in Denver. Shanahan is more Master of the West Coast than Gruden/Holmgren. And, like I said, I believe he will be the Skins new coach.

yeah what i meant is holmgren and gruden run offenses that are more like what we run now, and shanahan loves going deep. I'm excited about shanahan coming to dc (if he does), i just dont want him to fall in love with campbell because he has a big arm. When shanahan let cutler take over for plummer he turned his winning team into a losing one because he had a hard on for jay. I think having mike would be a major improvement (which includes getting rid of cerrato).
