ok so im 22, livin in santa cruz, ca, grew up in northern VA so i have been a skins fan since i was born basically lol. i played football in northern VA from the age of 5 till i was like 17, even played some semi pro. needless to say football has been a huge part of my life and i have a pretty d**n good idea about what it takes to win. its about team.
i have no memory whatsoever of the redskins in their hayday, when they won like 3 super bowls in 5 years or whatever, my only memory has been of them being slightly above average.
i dont blame snyder for wanting to win, and he is young and learning still the ropes of the nfl and how to succeed. he will make mistakes here and there but we as skins fan cant be jumping down his throat, just be supportive of the team.
with that being said, the answer to the skins problems is a simple one. its colt brennan. im not going to get into how his stats prove he is the nuts, but instead im going to talk about his personality. to be a successfull QB on ANY level you need that personality. i played QB and its all about being a leader on the field. looking your guys in the eyes and telling them we are going to make this happpen right now.
jason campbell is a redskins QB in the sense he, like the team has been for the longest time now, is slightly above average. from what i hear he is ALWAYS studying if he is studying so much why do we have such bad productivity? at some point we need to stop making excuses for him, and im done.
colt brennan is the man we need in the huddle. he is excited like brett favre, hes got the accuracy (honestly who gives a nuts about the throwing motion), and he even can run. i dont expect anyone from the front office to read this or even be swayed by it but im a huge brannan fan and feel so deeply that we are ONE move away from being a top notch team. and that move is to start colt. the nfl is traditionally very conservative with situations like this but i pray to god that colt will get the start, not only becase i want to see us win enthusiasticly (sorry ima bad speller lol) but also because he deserves it. just like jason had to wait his turn, so will colt but i hope it happens, i hope at some point this season we get to see him in some real game action even if its in a meaningless game. i wish him all the best and hope to god that he gets the job soon.
ps- i saw a guy with a hawaii hat on one day here in santa cruz, asked him if he was a colt fan and he said no....wanted to slap him in the mouth lol

Right on Bro! We need that intangible quality CB5 brings to the huddle. He was great in college and given the chance he can be our next Sonny Jurgenson.

Obviously he isn't a Hawai'i fan. I definitely have a big problem with this...but I also see another side of it. I'm all for seeing Hawai'i merchandise, in fact us fans need to show more Hawai'i pride. I hate how people here on the mainland(at least all the places I've been...maybe it's Midwest ignorance) only view Hawai'i as the "little brother" that should be lucky to be called an American state. Or they only see it as a travel destination...what about the people that live there every day? It's not a fairy tale for them. I hate people wearing the H as a fashion statement...like how everybody wears Yankees stuff or how a bunch of people started getting Red Sox stuff. I've seen that on the lids website, Hawai'i is one of the top 20 college sellers all of a sudden after the Sugar Bowl. Now either the Hawaiians all of a sudden decided to buy merchandise or the "bandwagon jumpers" saw the design and bought on. Personally, I think it's a little bit of both. BUT....the Athletic Dept., the University, the Hawaiian economy, EVERYBODY, needs that money. People don't understand that Hawai'i football is/was being run on 1-2 million yearly. Ohio State spends $500k on recruiting alone. Plus they don't understand all the disadvantages Hawai'i teams have other than money. They just assume it's the same as everybody else. Anyway, Hawai'i fans continue to show the pride and support its teams. Lets take June's idea of making Hawai'i a national power and keep the dream going. It can happen. Be proud to be Hawaiian. I know Hawaiian pride is cherished to anyone who is from there or their parents are from there. But this is coming from a self professed Hawaiian trapped in a haole's body who has never even come close to stepping on Hawai'i soil. I take Hawaiian pride everywhere I go. I feel closer to the Islands than my own hometown. I hope that I can make it official someday. Thanks for letting me get on the soapbox.

Brahma, don't sweat it. We all have gone on the warpath because of the ignorant attitudes and statements people have made about Hawaii and the WAC. They don't say anything when we hand ASU their butts, but point fingers when we get stomped by UGA. They've never watched Colt before than say he sucks, has poor mechanics, has a poor attitude form listening to a has been Jaws (run my mouth) washed up Jaworski. They dismiss when a great like John Madden and Sonny Jurgensen praises him and says he brings energy to the field. They say it's the system that led to his 31 NCAA records yet never say anything when he get's nominated 2yrs in a row for the Heisman and places 6th and 3rd respectively. They get down on anyone supporting Colt, labeling them HATERS, yet they spew all they hate they can without admission of doing so. Pretty sad, but there are many that are just fans, and we just need to be patient. Many just need to see Colt to believe.

Hey fellas, I have to say I am bucking the trend. I live twenty minutes from St. Louis, Mo and have grown up in this area. I am 30 now. I sport quite a bit of UH gear. I have been a big fan of the school and its products. I hoped for Mighty Mouse Owens, am proud of LaBoy, get to see Pisa first hand with the Rams, saw Bess do his thing in Miami, think Satele will help that Oakland line, am super stoked Soloman is getting a chance with Buffalo, and am crossing my fingers Colt gets the chance to be great on the NFL stage!!! So whether there is general ignorance of the islands here or not, know there is at least one fan that truly appreciates them!!! ALOHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eh Bra! You said it. Don't forget Muton, Ingram, Vikune and the rest. Hawaii has years of producing great talent. Even without June Jones (who I have great respect for). Hang in there Colt, you'll get your chance again. Just show em what ya got this preseason. Da Bugga's.

Hey fellas, I have to say I am bucking the trend. I live twenty minutes from St. Louis, Mo and have grown up in this area. That's cool... I live in KC and have been a Hawaii fan for a long, long time. A few weeks ago I had to go to the store and it was cold, so I wore my Hawaii hoody and the girl at the checkout line was asking about Hawaii and said she loved the hoody and the "fancy H" as she described it! Spreading the Hawaiian love one person at a time...

I agree. After learning a little about Redskins history, they are the original maverick passing team in the NFL. The old time fans are waiting for the second coming of Sonny and the younger fans want to see some action. I'm really looking forward to preseason this year! HAIL!

Obviously, he is not a true Hawaii Warrior Fan. I am Hawaiian and went to NOVA school for 4 years. Iam a Redskins Fan and a Hawaii Fan. Ive watched Colt for 3 yrs and would not steer the Skins wrong. He is right. Colt is the missing link. He can be the player that makes the Redskins a top team. 1 of many examples is the UW v. UH game. Washington was crushing UH in the first half. I wish I was in that locker room at halftime because UH came back to win. And it wasnt because of June Jones. It was because of Colt. Iam sure he gave a great pep talk and he came out gun slingin. Washington has a gold mine. I hope the realize it soon.

Matt, I recorded that game. UH was down 21 points by the 2nd qtr and colt ralled them back and scored 3 touchdowns by the 3rd qtr. I forgot if it was 3 tds by halftime. Any ways, the guy can score quick when he needs too. See HOF game 4th qtr. Redskins need to start him.

Gentlemen,
If Colt Brennan can only "nearly" generate the enthusiasm that Sonny Jurgensen, the original gunslinger along with Charley Taylor, Bobby Mitchell and Billy Kilmer, brought to the Redskins, I would welcome his rapid emergence.
The team is, and has been, bogged down in mediocrity for quite a while... after the great days of Riggins, Theismann, Monk, et al.
The current owner is a certified goof... willing to take on has beens, but seemingly reluctant to stop micro-managing. That's where the base of the problem lies and we all know that "stuff" runs downhill!!! He will screw Jim Zorn up in a couple of years and go find another nice guy to mess up.

It is AWESOME to see midwest Warriors in force on the site! I'm in Cincinnati but grew up in northern Indiana. Always loved staying up late to watch the Run and Shoot with JJ back in the days of Rolo, Chang, Owens etc. But truth be told, I became a Hawai'i fan for life when I heard about Colt and his story.
