The Redskins tweeted this morning that McNabb will continue to wear No. 5, which backup quarterback Colt Brennan has agreed to give up.
PFT's Mike Florio noted Sunday night that it should be a simple arrangement in which Brennan, who wore No. 15 at Hawaii, takes his old college number. And the Redskins say that's exactly what will happen.

i don't care what number he wears, what i want to see happen is campbell traded to the raiders or jacksonville or buffalo, richard bartel released and colt beat out rex grossman for backup position. This is it. If he doesn't prove he can run our new offense he's not gonna be around.

Brennan beating out Grossman should not be a problem. I also believe strongly that JC will go somewhere else because the Redskins have given him the shaft for so long with the O-line instability and the passed 2 years of attempting to trade him away. I don't see any possibility that the Redskin-JC relationship can be repaired. Colt, on the other hand, can get back after his injury and breeze right passed Grossman who is mediocre at best. GO COLT! Looking forward to you seeing some game-time play.

The good news of campbell gone is awesome. Colt just needs to beat out rex grossman and Bartel. If he does his chances of leading the team is great. Mcnabb yes now is better but he is injury prone with only completing (full) 4 of his 11 seasons in the NFL (i believe?). Rex obiviously is the biggest competition just by his experience and his name. Brennan said this will be the year he puts it all on the line so lets see it colt!

The redskins are also looking to sign an undrafted free agent qb as well to compete, but this year was very thin at QB as it is, so i don't expect any new blood to beat out colt.

I don't care if I have to buy another jersey, I felt bad when he had to take #5 because of Collins.
