blog.redskins.com/2009/08/05/afternoon-practice-almost-a-trashcan-challenge/#continuedThe post-practice drills were particularly interesting, mainly because they replaced a promising trashcan challenge between Jason Campbell, Colt Brennan, and Chase Daniel. The trashcan was set up in the back corner of the endzone, and the quarterbacks were out around the 10-yard line. Campbell went first, dropped back, and missed. Brennan was next, and he hit on his first try. Then there was a huddle of some kind, and then next thing anyone watching knew -- me and the TV guys who were filming, basically -- the quarterbacks were throwing fade routes to the wide receivers in the back of the end zone. "It was gonna be best out of five," Campbell told me, "but then the receivers came back out so we just started throwing fades to 'em. We're gonna regroup and do it again tomorrow after practice." "Colt's claiming that he won just because Coach Meidt and Coach Hixon wanted us to throw to the receivers instead," Daniel added, "but we're definitely picking back up tomorrow." Brennan looked disappointed at the change in plans. "We started throwing before we could properly set terms, so I wasted a perfectly good trashcan shot," he said. The other two high points of Brennan's day were the long touchdown to Santana Moss in morning practice, and the high five with Coach Jim Zorn that followed. "It was nice," he said of the high five. "It's a progression from where I started. A lot of times even when you complete a pass, you still have to be coached. There's very few times you get to turn around and get a high five, so it was nice that that happened. It gave me a good feeling on the inside." With those things in the past, I asked if anything else exciting had happened today and Brennan shrugged. "I threw a ball into a trashcan. After that, you can pretty much call it a day."

Thanks Liz! Today (8-6) it rained the whole practice. Colt was still signing in the tent area. All the other players had already gone inside. Colt started to but the fans kept yelling Colt, Colt, Colt, so he stopped and came over to the fence and signed for every single fan that was there. Again Colt was the last player doing autographs & photos. The Cult of Colt is growing and growing.

Jason was with the 1st offense against the 2nd defense.
Colt was with the 2nd offense against the 1st defense.
So that may have been one of the reasons Colt didn't do as well as normal.

Colt’s Corner – Assessing the Scrimmage www.warpathconfidential.com/?p=425#more-425"In Saturday’s scrimmage, Colt Brennan had the opportunity to take the Redskins’ number two offense against the team’s number one defense. Unfortunately for Brennan, he and the offense were unable to do much against the starting defense. Brennan finished with respectable quarterback numbers, going 4/6 for 33 yards and a fumble unofficially. Brennan was in for two series. His first play in the scrimmage would be his best. On the play, Brennan hit receiver Marko Mitchell on a hot read slant for 15 yards. Brennan would hit Mitchell twice more in the scrimmage and add another to tight end Robert Angnone. Following the scrimmage, Brennan discussed his performance, the completions to Mitchell, and what it was like playing against the first team defense." Click the link for the assessment.

www.nbcwashington.com/news/sp...-53041977.htmlCult of Colt "Tomorrow's exhibition... err, pre-season game looms and the battles are set to begin. While Jason Campbell's inked in as the starting QB -- at least 'til Danny Snyder sees something else shiny that catches his eye -- the backup position appears to be wide open. Enter the Cult of Colt. Colt Brennan, everyone's favorite Hawaiian (at least since the cancellation of Magnum P.I.), is currently third on the depth chart behind Todd Collins. But a hot camp and a strong showing in the pre-season games could switch things around." Continued in the link above.

Hey Colt!
One snap and clear!
Thanks for hanging in there and trying to get something going.
Next game should be better all-around.
HTTR!

http://sports.honoluluadvertiser.com...historic+feast
It was in January 2007 when the man became The Man.
In an emotional news conference broadcast live across the state, Brennan announced he would relinquish an opportunity to apply for the 2007 National Football League draft and return to UH for his senior season.
That roar of approval never ebbed the rest of that Disneyesque year.
From that chicken-skin moment, Brennan became the image of state pride. Hawai'i became a state 50 years ago today, but on that January afternoon, it was placed on the map.
"The second I made that decision," Brennan said, "my time became Hawai'i's time. Everything I did, I did for Hawai'i."

A Backup's Age-Old Story By Mike Wise Saturday, August 22, 2009 Each August, without sufficient reason, we go cuckoo for Colt. For two years running, some of us have gone absolutely bananas over a third-string quarterback who has but two qualities in his corner: gaudy college numbers and raw gumption. Why? Because Colt Brennan represents youth, daring, change. Here's the link: www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...082103310.html
